koizora 恋空 sky of love

watched 'koizora 恋空 sky of love' yesterday. saw the poster earlier this month. the sight of it made me want to watch. a kind of romance which i will like. saw from li ting's blog that she cried a lot when watching. 'i want to watch!' luckily i watched with my HERO. if with the girls, doubt i would cry out that loud and bitterly. it has been a long time since i cried like that during a show. much less for a movie since movies are shorter than dramas. a high school romance....

high school first year.

girl, mika, lost her cell-phone just before the summer vacation.

guy, hiro, found it in the library and got her number. left the cell phone on the shelf without returning to her personally.

hiro called her throughout the vacation, keeping his identity in suspense.

they met on the first day of school re-open.

hiro plucked a bunch of wild flowers for mika cos she likes flowers.

mika said the flowers are pitiful and ran off.

hiro planted the flowers back, adding lots of fertilisers. mika saw it.

soon, they got together.

everything was sweet and loving.

during one of their dates, before hiro reached, mika got raped by three guys.

they were paid by hiro's ex-girlfriend.

fortunately, mika was not pregnant.

the incident was a great blow to her.

hiro helped her to be strong, or even stronger.

hiro and mika made it out in the library

she was pregnant with his child.

he did not run away from his responsibilities.

he wanted to quit school and work, and wanted mika to marry him when they turn 18.

on the fateful christmas eve that year, hiro's ex confronted mika.

she claimed that mika was not good enough for hiro and pushed her down the stairs.

that night, while celebrating hiro's and her last christmas alone, she felt a huge pain in her tummy.

the next thing she knew, she lost the child.

both mika and hiro were devastated.

they brought a pain of mittens and a little snowman to the place where hiro plucked the wild flowers and planted back.

that is the place of rememberance for their baby girl.

hiro organised a home party and invited his friends.

one of them told mika about it.

almost everybody was drunk, sleeping.

hiro's friend kissed mika.

mika went to the washroom.

came back and saw hiro kissing a girl.

broken-hearted, she ran away.

they met in the school library.

hiro wanted a break-up, claiming that mika kissed his friend.

mika said he kissed a girl too.

hiro said he wanted a break up, he wanted to fool around.

they dragged on for a file.

hiro wanted a break-up, mika wanted to hold on.

eventually, it ended.

along the way, a guy wanted to woo mika.

that christmas eve, she went to the place of rememberance.

and there it were, a pair of mittens and a little snowman.

was hiro there?

high school third year (final year)

hiro and mika were like two different worlds.

mika was busy with her school work and hiro was seldom in school.

mika and that other guy got together somehow.

he was a nice, honest guy who really likes mika.

here comes christmas eve again.

mika met hiro at the place of rememberance.

she was so glad to see him there.

he did not forget about their baby girl.

she asked for the reason of breaking up.

he walked away.

she had two choices, follow him or back to her present boyfriend.

she chose the latter.

university first year.

mika seemed happy with everything, her uni life.

she gave up hiro who was like a river always flowing, going forward.

her present boyfriend was like the sea, will always be there for her.

it is christmas eve again.

like the previous year, mika's boyfriend drove her to the foot of the hill.

to her surprise, she saw hiro's friend.

hiro was dying. he had cancer.

mika left her boyfriend and devoted all her time to nursing hiro.

she had always loved hiro.

they were together everyday, making up for the years that they had lost.

hiro wanted to be the sky when he died so that he could overlook mika.

one day, hiro asked mika to print out some photos from his digicam.

while she was out, the emergency call came.

she ran and fell. the photos fell from the bag.

all photos of her.

she called hiro through 3g, asking him to hang on.

then, hiro died with a smile. he could see mika before he stopped breathing.

sadly, mika was not by his deathbed.

he left a diary behind.

it was all about mika. every single entry was mika.

story ended. it was really a very touching high school romance. i thought teenagers do not know what love is, especially in singapore, they fool around. this movie proves me wrong. at least just for these two characters. despite their age, their love was so true and strong. little details of the movie make the movie perfect. the rings, their cell-phones, the photos they took together, hiro's blonde hair, the seasons of summer and winter, the snow, etc.

hiro gave up and did so much in order to make mika give up and faced everything alone though he was still hoping to be with mika. mika, hiro and mika's second boyfriend showed that love can be so selfless and powerful. does this really exist in reali life? i hope it does. now i understand why this story could move 12 million to tears in japan. this is my favourite japanese movie so far.

unbelievably, this is a true story.

anybody wants it? i have.

got a call from f. offered second year level, my expected salary. but, bound by two year contract.

interview at k on friday. quite hopeful in the beginning until i said i wanted to be in the financial services unit. then i think, cui.... long story....

what do i want? only the big four? audit? financial services?
