niam niam's birthday

three days ago, it was niam niam's birthday! i planned a simple relaxing birthday celebration for him. honestly, i think i did not do a great job as compared to him organising my birthday. i am so sorry! a little things screwed up and some time management error. but still, hope it was a pleasant one. and hope the 'passengers' enjoyed too. hahahahah....

on his birthday night, we had dinner at ps cafe at harding road, dempsey road. although the bill came up to quite a hefty sum ($70+), the ambience is good. food-wise, average. desserts-wise, i think it should be good, just that we were too full and the chocolate was just too rich. should just go there for desserts next time.

went to get car the next morning. the iu was spoilt, wasting a whole lot of time. the owner had a check-up at tan tock seng, so waited for her to go vicom together. spent almost the whole morning. then went to carrefour to get stuffs for picnic! i only prepared egg and crabstick mayo, so have to buy the rest. picnic is fun! it was really relaxing, seeing the squirrels at such a short distance and seeing them playing. it would be more fun without the ants and if it is cooler. but the weather was quite good. then fetched my mammy from work.

next stop, massage! wanted to have a spa. but settled down for massage and ear candling after walking amoy area. quite ex but guess it is the norm. very relaxing.... i fell asleep a few times. hahahahha.... the masseur is quite skilfull, espcially when she 'elbowed' me.... then pick hui xian up, niam niam's companion when i was away for department christmas dinner at the line @ shangri-la. thanks, hui xian! yu jia was one of the guests too. thanks, yu jia!

then came to fetch me and we were back at dempsey road again! ben & jerry's! had a slice of cake for him. sorry dear didn't have any proper cake....

went for dim sum breakfast at red star restaurant the next day. it had been years since i last stepped into there. follow by prawn-fishing! interesting. though quite cruel when the prawn was caught. cannot go for prawn-fishing too often. and the horrible part is the worm! when it had to be cut as bait. of course, the birthday boy as the only guy has to do all these things - cut the worm, poke it into the bait and unhook the prawn. hahahahah.... it takes skills to fish a prawn cos they are cunning! your bait could be gone before you know it. sense of accomplishment when we saw the prawns in our net. we caught twenty-two! wanted to barbecue there but too troublesome, so headed to niam niam's house. too bad hui xian could not join us. so the three of us turned the raw prawns to a delicious dish! wonderful~ especially since the prawns were caught by us.

time to get a good rest and much sleep after insufficent rest and sleep since last week of energy-chasing, followed by this fun-filled and tiring weekend.

it was a fun weekend. a short break. singapore may not be that boring after all.
