merry christmas!
merry christmas everybody~ so christmasy mood since yesterday afternoon. hahahahah.... and it is new year soon~ in like, less than a week's time? pulled out from imh (institute of mental health a.k.a. woodbridge hospital). quite an eye-opener. this visit to imh injected a sense of empathy into me. i admit there were times when i was afraid when the patients walked up and talked to me. but after more than two weeks there, i really empathise them. most of the patients are long-stayers. they are abandoned by their family. a few wards were leased to nursing homes. seeing the elderly there hurt me too. especially when i was there almost everyday and i could see familiar faces and observe them. something random for me to talk about. sometimes, life just isn't fair.  had sort of a christmas lunch with my ex-colleagues of n.f. lee yesterday, christmas eve. have not seen them for a long time. i am truly happy to see them and hear their progresses since we left. may all the best to all of you~ went last minute shopping for christmas presents with yu jia yesterday. then christmas dinner with niam niam, hui xian and foo kin. went to blu jazz cafe at bali lane. carbonara was quite good. good place to chill. then mahjong at hui xian's place. two rounds. won $5+. i must say, hui xian and i have improved. hahahahah....  received a pair of swarovski cherry earrings from niam niam as christmas present. thank you, my dear. didn't expect something of this value, so don't expect much from me. ha. i will treasure it. very nice! love it~ and i will take good good good good care this time round. i promise!  cooked creamy butter crab today! think it is not bad. i think i have improved? just that it is a bit burnt and not enough gravy. now who says you need somebody to teach you cooking? ha.... a recipe book and advice from people are good enough. and you can whip up a good dish too! though mine is not good, yet.
