a simple yet satisfying week. whipped up a dinner with niam niam last sunday. we cooked three dishes, two by him and one by me. of course, i cooked my favourite 鲁肉饭. this second attempt is better than the first! he cooked tomato sauce prawns and mixed vegetables consisting brocoli, baby maize and pacific clams. the prawns were nice! cooking is so fun! but the aftermath is always a chore. washing and mopping. nevertheless, they are all worthwhile!
had dinner with yu jia, hui xian and niam niam on wednesday, at our favourite korean restaurant at mosque street, togi. cos miss ho misses her kimchi soup. ha. a nice dinner with nice companions is always heartwarming. we were having such holiday mood and treating the next day as friday since it is a short week!
my second birthday celebration with niam niam yesterday. since i was at taiwan during my birthday and he went to tokyo after i came back. celebration or not, it is just an excuse to spend a meaningful day, so it deos not really matter if it is a celebration. what matters is we spend enjoyable time together. i want to drive the next time we rent car! haha.
went to riders cafe at bukit timah saddle club for breakfast. we missed it during his last breakfast as the place was full. had riders breakfast. nice! saw many horses at the club. nice way to start the day, a touch of nature.
next, went kite flying. first time for me. bought a cute penguin kite. thanks to nice kite vendor at sengkang! penguins can fly too! and ours fly very high! it was a very, very sunny day before the dark clouds saved us. had fun with his er jie's family at sengkang. we ended the first session of kite flying when we saw lightning. then proceeded to marina barrage which was our initial plan. been some time since we went marina barrage. oh gosh, there were so many kites in the sky! continue kite flying~
went to da paolo la terrazza, an italian restaurant at holland for dinner. it was a bit pricey. but their handmade pastas are definitely worth a try, tangy and 'q'. he had the crayfish spagetti. while i had something like potato balls in cheese. i like that! though the cheese was a bit too much.

attended wei ping's wedding dinner at tien court at copthorne king last night. it was great to see my first batch of ex-colleagues, the senior staff and the bosses. glad to see that everybody is doing well. hope it won't be long before we see each other again. so nice to see another newly wed. here comes happily ever after again!
